Pretty, Playful, Provoked

The REAL World

My daily experiences in a city that is continually changing and accompanied by an ever-growing laundry list.

Settling into a new home is never an easy task.
Not to mention, tossing in a new job, trying to juggle an
ever evolving social calendar, and somehow finding time to sit
and meditate. Just thinking about it again is exhausting
and that is why we are here right now. After my experiences
with the past few weeks of house hunting & living out of
a suitcase, I needed to give you a heads up on what
to “look forward” to when making this ever-so-joyful transition!

1. Get a good night sleep the day before your first day
2. Purchase a reusable coffee mug to bring to work
3. Get organized from the start; folders, pens, & laptop
4. Bring coins w/you for those emergency parking situations
5. After your first day, go celebrate your achievement!

In the two weeks that I have been a graduate,
I have been exposed to the real world;
bills, job hunting, house hunting, while all together trying to figure
out if I am making the right career choices.
Phew- I just stressed myself out thinking about it again!

Well, in all fairness they did warn us.
All of my professors said something along the lines of
“Stay in college for as long as you can.
You see, you can come to class late or not even come at all, but
once you throw that blue collar button up on
(or in my case that pencil skirt) then you have to be there at
9am and have to stay until 5pm.” Welcome to adulthood.

In my case, to avoid the whole mundane routine of being the
20-something being thrown into the unplanned world after college, I have
done a few things that will hopefully guide me, and
even you, to sanity. I thought I would share these in hopes that
they will help the recent graduate, the very-soon-to-be, or
the eager that are waiting for the day to come.
